Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 14

According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, Ukrainian Defense Forces have launched 12 strikes against areas where Russian occupying forces and equipment are concentrated in the last 24 hours. Additionally, there were 33 combat clashes on various fronts during this period.
Enemy attacks
Overnight, Russia conducted another missile and aviation strike against Ukraine. Information regarding the aftermath of this terrorist attack is currently being clarified.
In the previous day, Russian occupying forces carried out 2 missile and 43 aviation strikes, along with around 55 artillery barrages using rocket artillery systems, targeting positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and civilian settlements. These terrorist attacks have resulted in casualties and injuries among the civilian population, including children. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damages due to the attacks.
The likelihood of missile and aviation strikes across Ukraine remains high.
Frontline situation
On the Volyn and Polissia direction, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy conducted mortar and artillery shelling on more than 15 populated areas, including Halahanivka, Ukrainske, Hremiach, Novovasylivka in the Chernihiv region; Volfyne, Turia in the Sumy region, and Ohirtseve, Okip, Budarky in the Kharkiv region.
On the Kupiansk direction, the enemy's attempts to launch unsuccessful offensive actions in areas southeast of Andriivka in the Luhansk region were noted. Towns like Kamyanka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Berestove, Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region experienced enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Lyman direction, Russian occupying forces launched aviation strikes on the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Vesele in the Donetsk region. Over 15 populated areas, including Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Terny, Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Dibrova, Zvanivka in the Donetsk region, were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.
On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy attempted unsuccessfully to regain lost positions in the areas of Andriivka and Klyshchiivka in the Donetsk region. An aviation strike was carried out in the Klyshchiivka area. More than 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Minkivka, Hryhorivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, Pryvillia, New York in the Donetsk region.
On the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian forces continue to resist Russian advances around Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, under heavy enemy aviation and artillery shelling. The enemy launched an aviation strike in the Avdiivka area. Populated areas such as Oleksandropil, Spepove, Keramik, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske in the Donetsk region were targeted by enemy artillery shelling.
On the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold off Russian advances in the Maryinka area of the Donetsk region. An enemy aviation strike hit the Krasnohorivka area in the Donetsk region. Over 10 populated areas, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, Kostyantynivka, Antonivka in the Donetsk region, were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.
On the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy attempted unsuccessfully to regain lost positions in the area west of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region. They conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Blahodatne and Staromaiorske. Over 10 populated areas, including Vodyane, Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenska, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.
On the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions east of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy launched aviation strikes in the areas of Chervone, Charivne, Pyatyakhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region. Over 20 populated areas, including Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Mali Shcherbaky, Charivne, Lobkove, Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by enemy artillery shelling.
On the Kherson direction, Russian occupying forces carried out aviation strikes in the areas of Zelenyi Hai, Odradokamianka, Bilozirka in the Kherson region. More than 20 populated areas, including Zolota Balka, Veletenske, Stanislav, Komyshany, Novotyahynka, Kozatske, Antonivka, Tokarivka in the Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson and Ivanivka in the Mykolaiv region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.
Counteroffensive actions by Ukrainian Armed Forces
Simultaneously, Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions. They consolidate their positions, while implementing counter-battery measures.
Enemy losses
During the previous day, Ukrainian aviation struck areas where enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment were concentrated with 12 strikes, and 6 strikes targeted air defense systems.
Additionally, missile troops and artillery units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted and struck 2 artillery installations on firing positions, 1 anti-aircraft missile complex, 1 electronic warfare station, and 1 enemy air defense system.
