Russia triples number of combat clashes in southern Ukraine – Ukraine's Forces

The intensity of combat operations in southern Ukraine has sharply increased. In February, Russian troops conducted 118 clashes, while in March, there were 368, states the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn.
"To say that the enemy is increasing or decreasing the intensity of combat operations, it must be compared to something. In March, the enemy conducted 368 clashes in the south, while in February there were 118. So, the number of clashes tripled," Voloshyn explained.
According to him, there has also been an increase in the number of kamikaze drone strikes, as well as an increase in artillery shelling and rocket-launcher attacks.
"That is, if in February there were on average 260-300 artillery shellings, then in March it was 350-370. Regarding kamikaze drones: in February, there were 380-400, in March it reached 450, and there were even days when at least half a thousand of such UAVs flew towards our positions and settlements located near the line of contact," the spokesperson noted.
Voloshyn emphasized that the intensity of combat operations in the south is rising, and this can be clearly stated when summarizing the results.
At the same time, he pointed out that the Russian army is accumulating forces and resources for assault actions, but "this is not part of a strategic offensive; it is small infantry groups conducting assault actions to improve the tactical situation."
Frontline situation
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of April 1, there have been 111 combat clashes on the front. Russian troops are concentrating their efforts on the Pokrovsk direction, where they have already launched 35 attacks.
Since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 916,000 soldiers.
In particular, over the past day, Russian losses amounted to 1,540 soldiers. Additionally, yesterday the Defense Forces destroyed 9 tanks, 37 armored fighting vehicles, 15 artillery systems, 46 drones, and other enemy equipment.
