Over the past day, March 31, the Russian army lost 1,540 personnel in the war against Ukraine. Ukrainian fighters also destroyed dozens of enemy military equipment units, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to April 1, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 916,770 (+1,540) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,505 (+9);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 21,856 (+37);
  • artillery systems - 25,552 (+15);
  • MLRS - 1,347;
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1,123;
  • aircraft - 370;
  • helicopters - 335;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 31,462 (+46);
  • cruise missiles - 3,123 (+2);
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 42,646 (+53);
  • special equipment - 3,787.

Situation on front

According to the General Staff of Ukraine, there were 216 combat engagements over the past day. The enemy exerted the most pressure in the directions of Pokrovsk (79 offensive actions) and Kursk (27 attacks).

As reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian defense forces have recently advanced near Pokrovsk and in the Belgorod region, while the enemy has gained ground near Kupiansk, Toretsk, and in the Pokrovsk direction.
