Despite heavy losses, the Russian army is trying to turn the tide of the fighting. Ukrainian defenders are inflicting maximum losses on the enemy and wearing it down, according to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
“During another working trip to the Southern operational zone, I held a meeting with the command staff of military administration bodies, military units, and subunits involved in carrying out combat tasks to repel the armed aggression of the Russian Federation,” Syrskyi said.
During the meetings, the main focus was on coordination and improving interaction within areas of responsibility, and further actions were coordinated to conduct an effective active defense.
He also emphasized that Russian forces are reinforcing their grouping and are not abandoning attempts to turn the course of hostilities in their favor. Ukraine’s Defense Forces are firmly holding designated lines.
“Our goals remain unchanged — to inflict maximum losses on the enemy to exhaust it, liberate Ukrainian territories, and preserve the lives of our soldiers,” the Commander-in-Chief added.
Situation at the front and enemy losses
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is trying to increase assault activity at the front, but is only suffering even greater losses. The Russians have also missed their own deadlines in three regions.
The Russian army lost more than 35,000 soldiers in March alone. A huge number of enemy troops were neutralized using drones.
The current ratio of the use of strike drones by Ukrainian forces and Russians is 1.3 to 1, with the advantage on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
