Russia terrorized Odesa region with drones, high-rise building on fire at night
Throughout the night of October 8, the Russian Federation terrorized the Odesa region with strike drones. In Chornomorsk, an attack caused fires in residential apartments of a high-rise building, according to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
According to Kiper, most of the Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were successfully destroyed by air defense. There were no casualties or injuries reported.

At the same time, as a result of the attack:
- In Chornomorsk, apartments on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors caught fire. A fire covering an area of 100 square meters was promptly extinguished.
- In the Odesa district, the ceilings and walls of an administrative production building were damaged, leading to a fire. This blaze, which covered an area of 50 square meters, was also extinguished.
- One drone fell into an open area without detonating.
October 8 attack on Ukraine
According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the night of October 8, the Russians launched against Ukraine:
- Two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from temporarily occupied Crimea targeting the Odesa region.
- 19 strike drones from the Russian town of Primorsk-Akhtarsk.
During the defense against the attack, air defense forces managed to destroy 18 drones, while another UAV returned to Russia.
