Strikes on oil refineries

According to Ukraine's leader, last night, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck military targets on Russian territory, as well as the objects of the fuel and energy complex.

During the briefing, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, provided all the details of the strikes.

"These are the long-range capabilities and precision that are gradually bringing Russia back to reality - the reality that this war (in Ukraine - ed.) must end," Zelenskyy added.

Situation on frontlines

Syrskyi also reported on the situation on the main frontlines. In particular, the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions remain the hottest frontline areas, and fierce battles are ongoing there.

"The Russian army, as it was in November, is now, in December, suffering record losses in battles and assaults. These months, November and December, mark record Russian losses," the President noted.

Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief also reported on the ongoing Kursk operation.

Russia's losses in war against Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has already lost more than 757,000 military personnel. Just in the past 24 hours, its losses amounted to 1,400 soldiers. In particular, Ukraine's Defense Forces have destroyed:

  • 2 tanks;
  • 20 armored fighting vehicles;
  • 3 artillery systems, and more.
