On Monday, June 15, Russian forces struck a zoo in Kharkiv. Animals were injured as a result of the attack, according to a statement from Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

"An impact on the zoo has been confirmed — (animal) enclosures have been damaged, and other details are being clarified," his statement said.

Terekhov added that information has been received about injured animals.

Later, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that, according to updated information, 10 rabbits were killed as a result of a Russian drone strike on the zoo.

"Preliminarily, a higher number of dead animals was reported, but fortunately, these data were not confirmed," the statement said.

Russian forces carried out a second strike on Kharkiv, killing five State Emergency Service rescuers. They were extinguishing a fire that broke out after a previous attack.

Earlier, Russia launched several attacks on Kharkiv. Initially, there were reports of a strike on the Kharkiv Art Museum — several people sought medical help due to an acute stress reaction.

Later, it became known that an industrial facility in the Kholodnohirskyi district of the city was hit. Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov published footage from the scene showing a large fire — flames engulfed the third floor of the building.

RBC-Ukraine also reported that on the night of Monday, June 15, Russia carried out a massive attack on Kyiv. Numerous fires broke out in the capital — residential and non-residential buildings, a dormitory, the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, cars, and warehouse facilities were burning.
