Russian drones struck the Oleina plant in central Dnipro, which is owned by US corporation Bunge, according to Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov.

According to the mayor, enemy Banderol drones struck the Oleina facility, which is located in the city center. He noted that Russian forces have targeted the facility before.

Filatov emphasized that the plant is US-owned and belongs to the international corporation Bunge.

“It’s something not everyone knows. US Senator Blumenthal was personally there recently,” he added.

The mayor said Russian forces are not deterred by the fact that the property belongs to US companies or by concerns expressed by US officials.

Filatov also criticized the wording used in media reports and official statements, which refer to the site as a “food industry facility.” In his view, Ukraine should not conceal the details, but should involve the Foreign Ministry and “shout to the whole world” about Russia’s deliberate destruction of US investments and property.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that at least two people were killed in the Russian strike and that the facility sustained serious damage.

“This is no coincidence, but part of Moscow’s systematic terror campaign against American businesses and economic interests,” he said.

The minister stressed that such Russian strikes underscore the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses and increase pressure on the Russian regime to force it to end the war and turn to diplomacy.

Strike on Coca-Cola plant in Kyiv region

As previously reported, on September 3, the Coca-Cola plant in Velyka Dymerka came under a drone attack, after which a fire broke out at the facility. It is one of the largest soft drink production facilities in Europe.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia could not have been unaware that it was striking a US company.

It should be noted that Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha described Russia’s strike on the Coca-Cola plant in the Kyiv region as a deliberate attack on American business.
