Russia strikes Ukraine with missiles and drones overnight: Downed targets revealed
Russian troops attacked Ukraine at night with Shahed drones and a cruise missile. Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed most of the drones, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"At night, the Russian invaders once again attacked Ukraine with 22 Shahed UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces and means destroyed 17 attack UAVs," the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff says in a statement.
In particular, to attack the southern regions, the Russians fired Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones and a Kh-59 missile in the direction of the Odesa region. The target was destroyed by air defense units over the sea.
"Within 2.5 hours, air defense units repelled the attack, eight targets were destroyed: two in the Kherson region, four in the sky over Mykolaiv region, two more left our operational area in the direction of Dnipropetrovsk region, where they were also destroyed," the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine says in a statement.
Russian Shahed attacks
Russian occupants regularly attack Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones. They most often target civilian and energy infrastructure.
The latest attack took place last night, on March 11. In total, Russia launched 25 drones, and Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 15 enemy air targets.
