Russia strikes Ukraine with drones and missiles overnight: Air defense's work reported

On the night of September 6–7, Russia launched a massive air attack on Ukraine with dozens of attack drones and missiles. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down some of them, but there were still some still reached their targets, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
On the night of September 7, starting at 6 p.m. Kyiv time on September 6, Russia struck Ukraine with 92 Shahed-type attack drones, including jet-powered ones, as well as Gerbera drones, Parodiya decoy drones, and S8000 Banderol guided missiles.
Russian attacks came from several directions simultaneously:
- Oryol
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk
- Temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region
- Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Russian attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 9 a.m., Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 71 Russian drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other types.
Russian airstrikes were recorded at 12 locations. Debris from downed targets fell at one additional location.
Russian drones remain in Ukrainian airspace.
On the evening of September 6, Russia launched 20 attacks on four districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region, killing one person and wounding 6 others.
That same night, Russian drones also attacked Zaporizhzhia, where a shopping center caught fire as a result of the strike. There were no casualties.
