Russia strikes Ukraine with drones and missiles overnight: Air defense's work reported
On the night of September 30, Russia attacked Ukraine with several missiles and drones. Ukrainian air defense destroyed 67 Russian drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
In total, Russia attacked Ukraine with:
- 1 Iskander-M ballistic missile from the occupied Crimea
- 1 Kh-59/69 guided missile from the airspace of the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region
- 1 Kh-31P anti-radar missile from the airspace over the Black Sea;
- 73 Shahed-type attack UAVs from the areas of Russian Kursk, Yeysk, and Orel.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces were involved in repelling the Russian attack.
In total, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed:
- 1 Kh-59/69 guided missile;
- 67 Shaheds in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Poltava, and several other regions.
“1 drone flew in the direction of Belarus, 3 more were lost in the northern regions of Ukraine as a result of countering electronic warfare. 1 drone remains in the airspace of Ukraine, combat operations are underway,” the Ukrainian Air Force writes.
Russian shelling of Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has regularly launched massive attacks against Ukraine. In particular, energy infrastructure facilities are targeted.
In addition, almost every night Russia launches Shahed drones on Ukraine.
For example, on the night of September 29, Russians attacked 22 attack drones. Ukrainian air defense destroyed 15 drones.
