Russia strikes Ukraine with 97 drones and 2 missiles overnight: Air defense's work reported

On the night of August 15, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 94 strike drones and various types of drone simulators and 2 ballistic missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Starting at 7:30 p.m. Kyiv time on August 14, Russia attacked Ukraine with 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Voronezh and Bryansk regions of Russia, as well as 97 Shahed-type strike drones and drone simulators from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Shatalovo.
Russian drones targeted the frontline areas of Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Chernihiv regions, while the missiles targeted Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions of Ukraine. Russia launched missile strikes on the Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions of Ukraine.
Russian attack was repelled by aviation, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or suppressed 63 Russian Shahed and drone simulators in the north and east of Ukraine.
"Ukrainian missile and 34 drone strikes were recorded at 13 locations," the report says.
Russian strikes on Ukraine
The first drones began flying into Ukrainian airspace on August 14 at around 9 p.m.
Monitoring channels also reported the movement of unidentified drones in the Sumy area.
On the night of Wednesday, August 13, explosions were heard in Kremenchuk amid the threat of Russian ballistic missiles.
The Russians also fired missiles at the Sumy region and wounded a child.
