Russia strikes Ukraine with 72 drones and ballistic missile overnight

On the night of August 24, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with a ballistic missile and dozens of strike drones. Some of the targets were shot down by air defense forces, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched an Iskander-M missile from the Taganrog area, along with 72 Shahed-type strike drones and dummy drones from Russian territory, from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Russian attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m. Kyiv time, 48 Russian drones were shot down or suppressed in the north, east, and south of Ukraine.
At the same time, Russian missile strikes and 24 drones were recorded in 10 locations.
On the night of August 24, explosions were heard in the Ukrainian city of Sumy. The region was under Russian drone attack.
According to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the consequences of the Russian attacks on the city are being investigated.
In addition, yesterday in the Synelnykove district, a Russian drone attacked a minibus traveling on the highway.
As a result of the Russian strike, a 59-year-old man was killed and 5 other people were injured.
