Russia strikes Ukraine with 2 missiles and 174 drones overnight

On the night of September 19, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with two Zircon anti-ship missiles, 174 strike drones, and Banderol drones. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down most of the Russian targets, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Last night, the Russians attacked Ukraine with:
- 2 Zircon anti-ship missiles launched from the Kursk region
- 174 Shahed-type strike drones (half of which were jet-powered), Gerbera drones, Banderol/Dan-T loitering munitions, and Parodiya-type decoy drones from the following directions: Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk of Russia; temporary occupied territory of the Donetsk region; Hvardiiske of temporarily occupied Crimea.
The main targets of the Russian strike were the Odesa and Kyiv regions.
According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m. Kyiv time, air defense systems shot down or neutralized 141 Russian targets:
- 3 Banderol/Dan-T
- 138 drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as other types of drones.
Russian airstrikes were recorded at 15 locations, and debris from downed drones was found at 9 locations. Russian missiles did not reach their targets; information on their Russian attack sites is being verified.
Today, the US State Department approved a potential arms sale agreement with Ukraine, which provides for the procurement and modernization of air defense systems, as well as related equipment and services.
