On the night of April 20, Russians attacked Ukraine with 142 drones, including Shahed jet-powered drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the drones, but 28 hits were recorded, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

The Russian attack began at 6 p.m. Kyiv time on April 19.

Russians deployed 142 attack drones of the Shahed (including rocket-powered), Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as other types of drones.

The launches were carried out from eight directions: Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea).

About 100 of the drones in Ukrainian airspace were Shaheds.

Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 113 Russian drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.

Hits by 28 attack drones were recorded at 18 locations, and downed drones were found at 6 locations.

"The attack is ongoing; there are several Russian drones in the Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety rules!” the Ukrainian Air Force urges.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

On the night of April 19–20, Russian troops once again attacked Ukraine with strike drones. Several cities were hit, including Mykolaiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Kharkiv, where the effects of Russian strikes were recorded.

In the Kyiv region, Mykolaiv, and Kryvyi Rih, damage to residential buildings was reported.

Two people were injured in Kharkiv, and another man was wounded in the Brovary district of the Kyiv region.
