Russia strikes Ukraine with 138 drones overnight: Air defense's work reported

On the night of September 20, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 138 strike drones. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down most of the Russian drones, but some hit their targets, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Last night, the Russians launched 138 attack drones at Ukraine, including Shahed-type drones (half of which were jet-powered), Gerbera drones, and Parodiya-type decoy drones, from the following directions: Oryol and Millerovo in Russia; the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Crimea (Hvardiiske).
According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 101 Russian drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other types.
Russian airstrikes were recorded at 17 locations, and debris from downed drones was found at 5 locations.
"Russian attack is ongoing; Russian drones are in the airspace. Follow safety guidelines!" the Ukrainian Air Force warns.
Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy showed the first footage of Ukrainian interceptor drones destroying Shahed jet drones.
According to him, Ukraine has already tested several systems designed to counter Shahed jet drones in actual combat. Now the government wants to make them a standard part of its arsenal.
