On the night of August 21, Russia attacked Ukraine with 135 strike drones from seven directions. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down most of the Russian drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Last night, the Russians launched an attack with 135 Shahed-type strike drones (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera drones, and Parodiya-type decoy drones from the following directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian), temporarily occupied Donetsk, and Crimea.

According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 107 Russian drones in the north, south, and east of the country.

Hits by 27 attack drones were recorded at 16 locations, and debris from downed drones was found at 3 locations.

"Russian attack is ongoing; there are several Russian drones in Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety guidelines!" the Air Force warns.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

On the night of August 21, Russia struck Sumy with jet drones. The attack sparked a fire in a two-story residential building, and there are casualties.

Last night, Russia launched a massive combined strike on Kyiv and the surrounding region. The air raid alert in the capital lasted nearly nine hours, with the main strike targeting the Kyiv region.

Later, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the nighttime Russian strike had damaged 30 residential buildings, a school, a hospital, and a kindergarten. As of now, 15 deaths have been reported in Kyiv.

During the nighttime strike, the Russians struck the Brovary district, where an oil depot belonging to the KLO network was hit.

In addition, logistics centers belonging to well-known brands sustained significant damage. The Russians deliberately targeted the warehouses of Fora and Yves Rocher.
