Last night, Russians attacked various regions of Ukraine with 133 drones of different types. Most of them failed to reach their targets, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Russia launched a new air attack at 6 p.m. Kyiv time on August 12.

This time, the Russians deployed 133 drones, specifically:

  • Shahed-type strike drones (including jet-powered ones)
  • Gerbera drones
  • Parodiya-type decoy drones.

The Russian drones flew from the following locations: Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Russia; Donetsk and Hvardiiske—occupied territories of Crimea.

The following Ukrainian forces were deployed to repel the Russian attack:

  • Air forces
  • Anti-aircraft missile forces
  • Electronic warfare and unmanned systems units
  • Mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

"According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m., air defense forces shot down or neutralized 111 Russian drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as other types of drones, in the north, south, and east of the country," the report states.

The Ukrainian Air Force confirms that Russian drones were hit at 15 locations, and that debris from downed drones was found at 16 locations.

In addition, Ukrainian defenders warned civilians that the Russian attack is still ongoing—several drones remain in the sky.

In the Odesa region, port infrastructure is on fire following the Russian attack.
