Russia strikes Ukraine with 124 drones overnight: Air defense's work reported

On the night of May 22, Russia launched 124 attack drones of various types at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed most of the aerial targets, but some of the drones still hit their targets, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

In total, according to preliminary data, 115 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of drones were shot down or neutralized.
Consequences of Russian strikes
Despite the air defense efforts, some of the drones still reached their targets.
Seven Russian drone strikes were recorded at five locations, and debris from downed drones was found in five additional areas.
Russian attack is ongoing, with several drones remaining in the Ukrainian airspace.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said a turning point in the war may be approaching. He emphasized that international pressure on Russia must be intensified.
Russian immediate objective is to capture Sumy or Kharkiv. Russian troops may be considering offensive scenarios in the direction of the Sumy or Kharkiv regions.
