On the night of June 5, Russian troops launched another air attack on Ukraine with 103 drones and a ballistic missile. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the number of Russian targets destroyed.

Russia launched 103 Shahed-type attack drones and imitation drones of various types from the territory of Russia (Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk), the temporarily occupied Crimea (Chauda), and an Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile from the Rostov region.

The main areas of Russian attacks were the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare, and anti-drone systems units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in the repelling of the Russian air attack.

As of 10 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 74 Russian kamikaze drones:

  • 28 were shot down by firepower
  • 46 were lost locally or suppressed by electronic warfare.

However, Russian drones reached their targets in 16 Ukrainian cities and towns. Details on the consequences of the Russian strikes are being clarified.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has been constantly striking Ukraine. Every day, Ukrainian cities and villages are subjected to Russian missile strikes, kamikaze drone attacks, artillery, and air strikes. Russia deliberately destroys Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, schools, hospitals, energy, and transportation facilities. These actions are part of a systemic terror against the civilian population and qualify as war crimes.

On the night of June 5, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine, which resulted in deaths and injuries, including children. Read more about the consequences of the Russian night attack in RBC-Ukraine's report.

Russia also hit the building of the Kherson Regional Military Administration with a guided aerial bomb. And in the Odesa region, Russians struck a lyceum, an outpatient clinic, and a children's center.
