Russia launched another massive strike on Ukraine overnight on June 5. As a result of the enemy's attack, there are dead and wounded, among the victims and injured are children.

What Russia attacked with

Already on the evening of June 4, it became known that the Russians launched drones at Ukraine. Drone movements were recorded in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Odesa, and Donetsk regions.

The Air Force also reported a threat of ballistic missiles and KAB launches in several regions. By morning, there was a missile threat in the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.

Kharkiv

After midnight, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that the enemy struck Kharkiv with a missile. According to him, strikes were recorded in the densely built-up residential area of Slobidskyi district.

Just half an hour later, Kharkiv residents were warned about a drone threat. There was a strike on apartment buildings in the Slobidskyi district. As the mayor noted, as a result of direct hits on residential apartment buildings, apartments and cars near the houses caught fire.

According to the mayor, the enemy delivered a total of six strikes on Kharkiv, two of them were direct hits on multi-story residential buildings. In one of the apartments, fragments pierced the walls. Part of a Shahed engine ended up right in the hallway.

“At that moment, the owners were at home – they survived only because they were sleeping in another room. It's a miracle that everyone is alive,” the mayor said.

Rescuers clarified that three fire outbreaks occurred: an apartment on the top floor of a 17-story building was burning, another apartment on the second floor, and a basement room of a five-story building, along with three passenger cars.

According to the latest data from the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, 19 people were injured in the attack on Kharkiv, including a 7-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl, and two 13-year-old girls.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reported 18 injured, including four children.

Pryluky

That night, the city of Pryluky in the Chernihiv region was under a massive drone strike. According to Vyacheslav Chaus, the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, no fewer than six Geran-type drones attacked Pryluky. Explosions damaged houses in a residential area.

The State Emergency Service noted that due to the hits, large-scale fires broke out in the residential sector. Two residential houses, two garages, one utility building, and a car were destroyed.

There are reports of five dead, among the victims are two women and a child aged 1 year and 4 months, who were found under the rubble. There is also information about six injured, who were hospitalized in local hospitals.

The Minister of Internal Affairs reported that in Pryluky, a Russian enemy drone hit the house of the local fire station chief. His family died: his wife, daughter (a patrol police officer), and her one-year-old son.

“The rescuer, on this terrible night, was at the sites of enemy strike aftermath together with the firefighting and rescue team,” Klymenko added.

Odesa region

The Russians massively attacked the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district of the Odesa region. The Prosecutor's Office reported that the occupiers used 25 drones.

A family medicine outpatient clinic and a children's and youth creativity center were set on fire and damaged, and a lyceum building was partially destroyed and caught fire.

There were no reports of casualties.

Kherson

Russian forces launched four guided aerial bombs on the center of Kherson, reports the regional prosecutor's office. The enemy also attacked the city with artillery and drones.

At least five apartment buildings, an administrative building, and an educational institution were damaged. The Russians hit the Kherson Regional State Administration building with a KAB. According to the local agency Most, the strike occurred around 05:30.

There are reports of two injured as a result of the airstrike on the city.

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, said on national television that due to the airstrike, four people were trapped in the basement of a multi-story building. Fortunately, they were unharmed.

Sumy region

Russian invaders struck a settlement in the Sumy community with drones.

Private houses and passenger cars were damaged. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

Strike on Ukraine on June 1

As a reminder, on the night of June 1, Russia launched a record number of drones in Ukraine – 472 units. The Russians also attacked Ukraine with seven missiles. Air defense forces neutralized 385 aerial threats; however, there were also some hits.

Kyiv and the surrounding regions, including Zhytomyr, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia, were under enemy fire. At night, the Russians hit Zaporizhzhia with seven Shaheds. Houses and infrastructure objects were damaged.
