Russia strikes Ukraine with 100 drones overnight: Air defense's work reported

On the night of January 28, Russia launched a hundred Shahed and imitation drones at Ukraine. The Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 65 of them.
The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and the temporarily occupied Crimean town of Chauda.
The following forces were involved in repelling the Russian attack:
- aviation;
- anti-aircraft missile troops;
- electronic warfare units;
- mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 9:30 a.m. Kyiv time:
- 65 attack drones have been confirmed downed in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Odesa and many other regions;
- 28 imitator drones were locally lost without negative consequences. 2 of them flew in the direction of Russia and Belarus.
- One Russian drone is still in Ukrainian airspace.
Russian drone attack caused damage to private businesses, infrastructure facilities, apartment buildings, private homes, and vehicles.
Special services are currently eliminating the consequences of the attack in many regions.
Russian strikes on Ukraine
Almost every night, Russian troops attack Ukraine with drones and rockets, which puts civilians at risk. For example, on the night of January 27, Russia launched 104 unmanned aerial vehicles and imitation drones. At the same time, air defense destroyed 57 of them. Many Ukrainian regions were affected by the Russian strikes, but there were no casualties.
