Russia strikes Ukraine's Sumy with drones: Non-residential building on fire

On Friday morning, September 12, Russians attacked the city of Sumy with drones. Russia hit a non-residential building, causing a fire, according to acting mayor Artem Kobzar.
"The two explosions that everyone in the city heard today were caused by Russian drones hitting a non-residential building," Kobzar says.
He adds that information about the wounded or killed is being clarified. The acting mayor also shows the first footage of the aftermath of the Russian attack, which shows the fire.

At 07:25 a.m. Kyiv time, Oleh Hryhorov, the head of the Sumy regional military administration, clarified that the Russians had struck an industrial area on the outskirts of the city. There is currently a fire at the site of the Russian attack, and transport and non-residential buildings have been damaged.
"A security guard may have been there, but there is currently no contact with him. Due to the threat of repeated Russian strikes, State Emergency Service of Ukraine specialists are unable to begin rescue and search operations and clean up the aftermath. As of 7 a.m., no one has sought medical assistance," he adds.
At 7:40 a.m., Hryhorov reported that emergency search and rescue operations and the elimination of the consequences of the Russian attack were still ongoing.

Russian strikes on Sumy
Several explosions were heard in Sumy at around 6 a.m. The day before, the Ukrainian military reported that Russian drones had been spotted in the region.
Russia attacked Sumy on the night of September 11. The Russians hit the territory of one of the educational institutions, resulting in damage and partial destruction of many buildings. A fire broke out in one of them.
