Russia strikes Ukraine's Lviv with missile flying at 13,000 kilometers per hour

Late in the evening on January 8, Russia struck Lviv with a ballistic missile. The speed of the Russian target was about 13,000 kilometers per hour, and its type is currently being determined, according to the West Air Command of the Ukrainian Air Force.
"On January 8, at 11:47 p.m., Russia struck infrastructure facilities in Lviv with a ballistic missile. The air target was moving at a speed of about 13,000 kilometers per hour along a ballistic trajectory. The type of missile used by Russia to attack the city will be determined after examining all its components," the post says.
Ukrainian military also adds that all air defense forces and assets of the West Air Command are on constant alert to repel Russian strikes and are doing everything possible to protect Ukraine.
Russian missile strike on Lviv
On the night of January 8-9, a powerful series of explosions rocked Lviv amid the threat of long-range ballistic weapons.
Later, local authorities confirmed that Russia had attacked a critical infrastructure facility and that rescuers were extinguishing the fire.
According to Yurii Ihnat, head of communications for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, the launches likely took place from the Kapustin Yar training ground in Russia. It is not yet known whether it was an Oreshnik missile.
