One person was killed in Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region on December 24 as a result of Russian rocket strikes. Another 13 people were injured to varying degrees, according to the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

"One person was killed as a result of Russian rocket strikes on the suburbs of Kharkiv. Another 11 people were injured to varying degrees. The victims were hospitalized. All are receiving highly qualified medical care," the head of the regional military administration says.

A little later, Syniehubov reported that the number of wounded had increased by 2. Thus, as a result of the Russian terrorist attack, 13 people are known to have been wounded and one killed.

On the morning of December 24, Russian troops attacked the suburbs of Kharkiv. Due to the Russian terrorist attack, the city's metro system was temporarily out of service, but by midday on December 24, it had already resumed operation.

Later, Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that on Wednesday, December 24, Russia had launched a series of targeted strikes on a thermal power plant in the suburbs of Kharkiv. In this regard, the city was forced to switch to energy island mode.

This is a temporary isolated state of the power system when it is disconnected from the general networks. At the same time, the network continues to function independently, providing power to consumers. This allows the stability of the energy network in the country as a whole to be maintained.
