Overnight, Russia attacked the Orlivka international ferry crossing on the border with Romania цшер Shahed strike drones, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS).

As a result of the Russian attack, hits were recorded on the building and grounds of the border crossing point, and fires broke out, which have already been contained by emergency responders.

The Romanian side has been notified of the situation, and vehicles are currently being rerouted to other border crossing points.

The processing of citizens and vehicles at the crossing point has been temporarily suspended.

The Border Guard Service asks travelers to take this information into account when planning to cross the state border and reminds them that this is not the first time Russia has targeted this particular border crossing.

Preparations are underway in Zakarpattia to open a new border crossing, Bila Tserkva–Sighetu Marmatiei. Infrastructure readiness is being assessed there, and the crossing is scheduled to open later this year.

In addition, the State Border Guard Service clarified other details regarding border crossings—specifically, whether a border crossing stamp is required and what rules for traveling to the EU apply to different categories of citizens in light of Russian attacks on border infrastructure.
