Russia strikes a store in the Odesa region with a jet-powered Shahed drone, leaving people injured, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
What is known about the consequences of the attack
The store was partially destroyed, and cars were damaged. Three people were injured.
All the necessary emergency services are working at the scene. They are assisting the victims.
"Residential buildings, stores, energy facilities, and other critical infrastructure are under constant attack. Not a single hour of silence," Zelenskyy noted.
"It is important that our partners help us defend against this," the president added.
What the president says about sanctions
According to Zelenskyy, the attack was Russia’s demonstrative response to signals it is receiving from the United States. The president called these signals dangerous, as they concern the possible further lifting of sanctions.
Sanctions against Russia were imposed by the international community, the United States, Europe, and other partners of Ukraine in response to its aggression and war against our country.
“Nothing has changed; the war has not stopped. Sanctions must not be lifted,” Zelenskyy said.
“Russia must end the massacre it started and has continued for 1,695 days. Additional money for killings will not help achieve this. Strength is needed, and America is stronger than Russian terror,” the president said.
Earlier, on the morning of October 15, an enemy drone fell near a five-story residential building in Kyiv’s Pecherskyi district.
Three buildings were damaged, and five people were injured.
As RBC-Ukraine reported, Russia launched more than 850 Shahed drones at Ukraine from the beginning of the previous day until 9 a.m. on October 15.
According to Zelenskyy, some of the drones were shot down, but dozens also struck their targets.
