Since the beginning of yesterday, Russia has launched more than 850 Shahed drones at Ukraine, and the skies have not been clear for a single hour, according to a post by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The massive Shahed drone attack lasted virtually all day yesterday and throughout the night. From the beginning of yesterday until 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time today, more than 850 such drones were launched.
"There were continuous waves, and our skies were not clear of them for a single hour," Zelenskyy emphasized.
According to him, this happened "at a time when the capabilities of our defenses were being artificially restricted." Some of the drones were shot down.
"But unfortunately, there were also dozens of hits," the president added.
"Clearly, Russia deliberately escalated its attacks after receiving sanctions relief and seeing attempts to put pressure on Ukraine," the president said.
"Russia takes advantage of every such moment and must be held accountable for what it does," he added.
Zelenskyy emphasized that strong decisions are needed to end the war, along with sustained support for Ukraine, primarily in defending its skies. He also called on Ukraine’s partners to be honest about the war.
"It is important that everyone in America stand not with the aggressor, but with our efforts to protect lives, end this war, and guarantee security," the president said.
Today, nearly 360 Russian drones attacked the Kirovohrad region.
This was the largest attack on the region since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
As RBC-Ukraine reported, part of Rivne and the surrounding district was left without electricity following an attack.
Later, Rivne Regional Military Administration Head Oleksandr Koval said that power had been restored in Rivne. Some settlements remain without electricity.
