On the night of November 3, Russian forces attacked the Sumy region with kamikaze drones. The main strike hit the city of Trostianets, where one person was killed, according to the State Emergency Service (SES), the Sumy Regional Military Administration, and the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to local authorities, the enemy targeted residential buildings while people were asleep. As a result of the explosion, a two-story building was destroyed and caught fire. During the debris removal, rescuers retrieved the body of a deceased man, a 52-year-old local resident. His house was almost completely destroyed.

Relatives of the deceased were injured — two women aged 28 and 52, another 52-year-old woman, and two children aged two and five. All of them received medical assistance.

Other communities in the region also came under attack. In the Boromlia community, a missile strike damaged infrastructure facilities and residential buildings, while a large fire broke out in a private yard. In the Lebedyn community, two women aged 55 and 65 were wounded.

In total, over the past day, the enemy carried out 87 attacks on 35 settlements in 17 communities across the Sumy region. The most severe damage was recorded in the Esman, Krasnopillia, Boromlia, Lebedyn, Trostianets, and Mykolaiv communities.

The air raid alert in the region lasted more than 19 hours that night.

Attacks on November 3

Last night, Russian forces again attacked Ukraine’s southern and central regions, using dozens of strike drones and various types of missiles. The Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions came under fire.

In the Mykolaiv region, energy infrastructure facilities and several buildings were damaged by Shahed-type drones. Emergency crews are working at the scene.

The occupiers also carried out a combined missile-and-drone strike on communities in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The attacks resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia used a wide arsenal of weapons:

  • Three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles — launched from the airspace over the Lipetsk region;

  • Four Iskander-M ballistic missiles — launched from temporarily occupied Crimea;

  • Five S-300/S-400 missiles — fired from the Kursk region;

  • And 138 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types — launched from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia).
