Russia strikes residential building in Ukraine's Odesa with drone: Damage and injuries reported

Russian forces struck Odesa with a drone during the day on September 28. The UAV destroyed residential buildings, according to the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, the Ukrainian Air Force, and the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
Russia strikes Odesa with jet-powered drone
The Ukrainian Air Force warned at 3:00 p.m. Kyiv time that a jet-powered Shahed drone was heading toward Odesa.
Almost immediately, local Telegram channels began reporting a powerful explosion in the city.
Later, Lysak said the enemy had attacked the city.
"A residential building has been damaged. We are clarifying the details," he said.
At 3:37 p.m., Kiper clarified that at least three people were injured in the attack and that an apartment building had been damaged.
"According to preliminary information, three people were injured. One apartment was destroyed. The blast wave damaged the facade, windows, and balconies on several floors," he said.
A fire also broke out in the building.
At 3:42 p.m., Lysak added that the enemy attack destroyed an apartment on the 12th floor of a high-rise building.
"The facade, balconies, and windows of the building from the 1st to the 11th floors were damaged," he said.

Later, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper added that four people were known to have been injured as a result of the enemy strike on a residential building in Odesa.
Two of them were hospitalized:
- A 56-year-old man,
- A 37-year-old woman.
Two girls, aged 17 and 18, were also injured.
"Medics provided them with assistance at the scene. Work to deal with the aftermath is ongoing," Kiper said.

According to him, all emergency services are working at the scene. Operational headquarters are being set up to assist residents.
