Russia strikes residential area in Kupiansk: Casualties reported

On the night of August 9, residential areas of Kupiansk and nearby settlements came under Russian fire. There are casualties, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, there are 3 victims.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported damaged high-rise buildings, private households, and commercial facilities.
Rescuers worked under constant Russian fire.

Russia constantly shells Kupiansk. The situation became more complicated after an unsuccessful attempt by the Russian Armed Forces to attack the Kharkiv region this spring. However, the General Staff assures that the Ukrainian Armed Forces control the situation in the Kupiansk sector.
Since the evening of August 8, Russian occupants have launched attack UAVs on the territory of Ukraine. At night, air raid alerts were sounded in some regions. In the morning, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that all 27 Shahed attack drones launched by Russians had been shot down.
