On the night of April 23, a Russian air strike on Odesa damaged buildings and started a fire in a residential area. Over 30 people were rescued on the spot, but there were also casualties, including children, according to the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces.

"As a result of the Russian attack on the residential sector of Odesa, the houses of the townspeople were damaged and a fire broke out," the military says.

Emergency services are working at the scene, and the liquidation of the consequences of the Russian attack on the city with the use of Shahed continues.

"Preliminary information about 7 victims is available," operational command of the South says in a statement.

According to updated information, 34 people were rescued in Odesa, including three children.

The military also adds that there are two children among the seven victims.

According to the Odesa City Hall, at least 14 apartments were damaged.

"The State Emergency Service, the Municipal Guard, and other emergency services are helping to rescue people. There are 7 victims so far. Preliminary, no one was killed," says Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.

The mayor's office adds that the Peresypskyi district administration is deploying an operational headquarters to resettle and provide assistance to the affected Odesa residents.

Also, the Odesa City Hall published photos and videos of the aftermath of the Russian Shahed attack on the city last night.

According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, law enforcement officers are recording another crime committed by Russians against civilians.

The official confirmed the information that the Russian attack on the Odesa region with the use of attack drones damaged residential buildings in the city, caused a fire, and that rescuers saved 34 people, including 3 children.

"Seven people were injured, including 2 children, and are being provided with all necessary medical care," he adds.

The Odesa Regional Military Administration also showed photos of the consequences of the Russian attack on Odesa.
