On the morning of Tuesday, March 18, Russia launched an unidentified drone at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down a Russian drone in the skies over Kyiv, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

In the morning, an air alert was announced in the capital and some regions. Ukrainian Air Force warned of the threat of a Russian drone. Later, there was an explosion in the capital.

According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, debris was recorded falling on the territory of a school in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv.

What State Emergency Service says

According to the rescuers, the burning remains of a Russian drone were found on the territory of one of the capital's schools. However, thanks to the prompt work of firefighters, the fire was quickly extinguished.

“Sappers of the State Emergency Service and explosives experts of the National Police carefully examined the territory and the wreckage of the drone for explosive devices,” the statement says.
