Russia strikes Kryvyi Rih with ballistic missiles: Killed and injured reported
On January 17, the Russian army attacked the city of Kryvyi Rih. The attack damaged houses, and an educational institution, and caused casualties and injuries, according to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.
“In Kryvyi Rih, an educational institution and residential buildings were damaged as a result of the Russian attack,” he said.
Lysak emphasized that as of 12:45 p.m. Kyiv time, the air alert in the Dnipropetrovsk region is still in effect and called for people to stay in safe places.
Killed and injured
According to preliminary reports, 3 people were killed in the Russian attack in Kryvyi Rih. According to the head of the city's Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, 3 people were wounded and are being treated.
As of 1:30 p.m. Kyiv time, the death toll has risen to four. According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, these are three women and a man. Vilkul clarified that the civilians who were in the yard of a five-story building were killed.
The number of injured increased to 5 people. Three were hospitalized in severe condition. 2 more were treated on the spot. The victims include a 22-year-old girl and men aged 34 and 56.
A day of mourning was declared in Kryvyi Rih on January 20.
An air alert was announced in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as in other eastern and southern regions, at 12:11 p.m. Kyiv time. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a threat of ballistic missile attacks from the south.
Later, the Ukrainian military reported high-speed targets moving in the direction of Kryvyi Rih. A series of explosions were heard in the city.
Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih on December 24
On the evening of December 24, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih. Russian attack destroyed the entrance of a residential building from the fourth to the first floor.
4 other apartment buildings, 9 shops, 3 catering establishments, and over 2 dozen cars were also damaged.
Russian strike killed a 43-year-old man and injured 17 people, including 2 teenagers.
