In the early morning of July 7, Russian forces struck Kharkiv with Shahed-type attack drones. Explosions were heard across the city, and at least seven people were injured, including children.

This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, according to his post.

"Kharkiv was just attacked by two Shahed-type drones," Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed.

The Shevchenkivskyi and Slobidskyi districts of the city were hit.

"The air attack on the city is ongoing; several more combat drones are flying toward Pyatykhatky. Be cautious, repeated strikes on Kharkiv are possible," Terekhov warned.

At 5:50 AM Kyiv time, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that a Russian drone strike caused a fire on the ninth floor of a residential building in Shevchenkivskyi district. Emergency services have been dispatched to the scene. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties.

At 5:55 AM Kyiv time, a hit on a high-rise building was recorded in the Slobidskyi district. Casualties have been confirmed in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

At 6:07 AM Kyiv time, Preliminary reports state that four people were injured in Shevchenkivskyi district, including two children. A fire broke out on the 8th floor of the building, with an estimated area of 10 m².

At 6:17 AM Kyiv time, in Slobidskyi district, two people were injured. A kindergarten and several civilian structures were damaged.

Updated at 6:28 AM Kyiv time. The number of injured has risen to 8. Six people were wounded in the Shevchenkivskyi district, and two more in the Slobidskyi district.

Updated at 6:34 AM Kyiv time. Eight people were injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

Updated at 6:45 AM Kyiv time. Two more injuries were reported in the Shevchenkivskyi district, and three people were wounded in the Slobidskyi district, including a three-year-old girl.

Updated at 7:01 AM Kyiv time. The total number of injured has increased to 15 people: 11 injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district, including two children.

Drone attack on Ukraine - July 7

Russia launched Shahed-type strike drones toward Ukraine in the evening. Overnight, air raid alerts spread across several regions due to the threat of drone attacks.

Around 1:00 AM, Odesa Regional Governor Oleh Kiper warned that the city was under drone attack. Local channels reported hearing explosions, followed by more blasts later in the night.

Kyiv was also targeted. Debris from downed drones fell in two districts of the capital. In the Desnianskyi district, no fire occurred, but windows in a non-residential building were damaged.

In the Solomianskyi district, a vehicle and a water pipe were damaged.
