Kyiv and several regions attacked by Shaheds: initial aftermath reports

An air raid alert was declared in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine overnight on July 7 amid the threat of Russian forces deploying Shahed-type attack drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force and the Kyiv Military Administration.
"Russian drones are approaching Kyiv from the north," the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
Head of the Kyiv Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, confirmed that air defense systems were active in the capital.
At 2:05 AM Kyiv time, Tkachenko stated that the consequences of the attack were reported in the Desnianskyi district.
"We’re receiving reports of the aftermath in the Desnianskyi district. Preliminary information indicates that debris from a downed UAV fell there, without causing a fire," he said.

In the Desnianskyi district, falling debris damaged windows in a non-residential building. Information about possible casualties is being clarified.

In the Solomianskyi district, a car and a water supply pipe were damaged. No reports of injuries or fires have been received so far.
Kyiv region
Shortly before that, an air raid alert was declared in the Kyiv region due to the threat of attack drones. The Kyiv Regional Military Administration warned that groups of UAVs were spotted in the Chernihiv region and were heading toward Kyiv.
Odesa
Meanwhile, explosions continued to be heard in Odesa. Odesa Regional Governor Oleh Kiper warned that Russian forces were attacking with drones and urged residents to remain in shelters.
Kyiv strike on July 4
On the night of July 4, Russian forces launched a record number of drones at Ukraine, a total of 550 UAVs, including over 330 Shahed-type attack drones.
Kyiv was the main target. More than 20 locations across the city sustained damage, and there were casualties reported.
