Russia strikes Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs: Consequences revealed
Russian troops attacked Kharkiv, striking a civilian enterprise. The number of victims is growing, a large-scale fire is raging at the site, and people may be trapped under the rubble.
Russian attack on Kharkiv
Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov was the first to report the strikes in the city. At first, he wrote about the missile strike. At the same time, no air raid alert was declared in the city either before or after the Russian attack.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, later reported a guided aerial bomb strike, but later edited the message to simply say that Russia struck the Industrial district of Kharkiv.
“According to preliminary information, civilian production was damaged. The data is being checked,” said Syniehubov.
Terekhov, in turn, clarified that there was not one, but several strikes. The type of weapon used to strike the civilian enterprise is currently being established.
“There is a large-scale fire at the site,” the mayor said.
The Kharkiv Regional Military Administration added that there is destruction of infrastructure.
Number of victims growing
According to the latest data, 11 people have been injured as a result of the Russian shelling. 3 are in bad condition. Among the victims is a 16-year-old child.
“At least two people are trapped under the rubble at the site of the Russian strike. Rescuers are doing everything to help them,” Terekhov informed.
As of noon Kyiv time, the number of victims has increased to 16.
As of 12:37 p.m. Kyiv time, the number of victims in Kharkiv has increased to 21.
Due to its proximity to the Russian border, Kharkiv suffers daily from Russian shelling. Russia regularly attacks civilians and civilian objects with various types of weapons: attack UAVs, missiles, and anti-aircraft guns.
Kharkiv has one of the most difficult energy situations. The Russian shelling destroyed the thermal power plant and all transformer substations there. However, the city has received gas modular boilers that will help ensure uninterrupted heat supply to Kharkiv residents even in such difficult conditions.
