After the strike on Kharkiv, local authorities initially reported five injured, but the number of wounded quickly grew. As of 9:50 a.m. local time, the city mayor reported that the number of injured had risen to 74.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, 59 people sustained injuries and acute shock. Among the injured were four girls aged 3, 4, 14, and 16, as well as a 17-year-old boy.
The Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration clarified that 13 of the wounded were hospitalized, including two children. Four of the injured are in serious condition.
In addition, there is a fatality from the Russian shelling in Kharkiv - a 79-year-old man was killed. He was in his apartment during the missile strike.
Damage in Kharkiv
The Osnovianskyi district of Kharkiv came under attack by Russian terrorists.
The strikes hit a residential neighborhood among apartment buildings. Another missile hit a civilian enterprise, which caused a fire.
"As a result of the shelling, more than 50 multi-story residential buildings and over 30 vehicles were damaged," a representative of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported.
The State Emergency Service specified that because of the shelling in Kharkiv, multi-story residential buildings, an educational institution, and passenger cars were damaged. A two-story building, a workshop, and another structure on the enterprise's territory caught fire. The fire spread over an area of about 450 square meters.
