On the afternoon of Thursday, February 6, the Russian army conducted a drone strike on Kharkiv. The hit was recorded in one of the city's districts, the mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, says.

“We have preliminary information about a Russian drone strike on the Saltivskyi district. Details are being clarified,” Terekhov wrote.

As of 2:30 p.m. Kyiv time, there were no reports of any damage or casualties.

At 2:50 p.m. Kyiv time, Terekhov clarified that the Russian drone attacked a dense residential area in the Saltivskyi district. The explosion occurred near a 9-story building.

“There is no information about the victims at the moment,” he wrote.

At 3:41 p.m. Kyiv time, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, Russians hit the city with a Molniya drone.

“We recorded a hit by a Molniya drone on the facade of a residential building. There was no information about the victims. Another Molniya was shot down by air defense forces an hour earlier in the same area,” he wrote.

Russian strikes on Kharkiv

The night before, amid the Russian drone threat, explosions were heard in Kharkiv. The authorities reported Russian strikes in 2 districts. A fire was also reported at one of the city's largest markets.

The mayor's office said that the drone strikes occurred in the Kyiv and Kholodnohirskyi districts of Kharkiv.

On the night of February 6, Russians struck Ukraine with 77 Shahed drones and various types of imitation drones. Ukrainian air defense destroyed 56 of them.
