Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia today, December 17, causing significant damage to a high-rise building, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

"Russia is attacking Zaporizhzhia. There are hits on a residential building. The air raid alert continues. Stay in safe places until the air raid alert is lifted," Fedorov says.

According to him, Russia also attacked one of the infrastructure facilities of the regional center, and the consequences of the Russian strike are being clarified.

Later, Fedorov reported that Russia had launched three strikes on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district.

"Two residential buildings were hit in Zaporizhzhia. Preliminary reports indicate that there may be people under the rubble," he says.

He also says that a woman was injured in the Kushuhum community. She is receiving all necessary medical care.

Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia

The Russians regularly attack Zaporizhzhia and its surroundings with strike drones, guided aerial bombs, and various types of missiles.

Yesterday morning, December 16, Russians struck a high-rise building in Zaporizhzhia with a drone. As a result of the Russian attack, several apartments were burned, and people were injured.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, 4 apartments on the 5th and 6th floors, covering an area of 120 square meters, caught fire at the scene. Emergency responders rescued five residents from the upper floors, two of them with the help of a ladder truck.

4 people were injured: a 58-year-old man is in serious condition, a 28-year-old man is in moderate condition, and two women aged 76 and 69 received medical assistance at the scene.

Also on Sunday, December 14, Russians launched several air strikes on the regional center. As a result of the Russian attack, an ATB store was damaged, people were injured, and cars were burned in another area.

Russians struck the city and region on December 7. As a result of the Russian strikes with guided aerial bombs, private houses, farm buildings, and power lines were damaged.
