Russia strikes energy infrastructure in Lviv region
On the morning of Wednesday, January 15, Russia launched a large-scale missile attack on the territory of Ukraine. The energy infrastructure of the Lviv region came under attack, according to Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi.
“During the morning attack, Russian cruise missiles were spotted on the territory of the Lviv region. As of now, they no longer pose a threat,” Sadovyi wrote.
According to him, Russia attacked the energy infrastructure of the region and Ukraine. Sadovyi noted that emergency blackouts have been introduced in a number of regions, but Lviv is not on the list yet.
The head of the Lviv regional military administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, said that Russia had attacked the region with cruise missiles and a drone.
During the first air alert, which lasted from 1:35 to 2:48 a.m. Kyiv time, a Russian drone flew into the territory of the Lviv region. It was eliminated by air defense. There were no casualties or damage.
During the morning alert, which lasted from 6:12 to 8:12 a.m. Kyiv time, Russia attacked the Lviv region with cruise missiles.
“Russia struck 2 critical infrastructure facilities in Drohobych and Stryi districts. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but there was damage,” Kozitsky wrote.
Lviv region's life support systems are operating normally, and no power outages are currently being introduced.
Later, Kozytskyi clarified that a residential house and an outbuilding were damaged in the village of Sknyliv, Zolochiv district, as a result of the Russian rocket fall. There were no casualties or injuries.
However, a crater with a diameter of 6 by 5 meters and a depth of about 2.5 meters was formed next to the house.

This morning, Russia once again launched a massive attack on Ukraine. At first, the Russian army launched drones across Ukraine, and at night it became known that Russia had taken Tu-95MS bombers from the Olenya airfield.
Russia also attacked Kharkiv with ballistic missiles. Later, explosions were heard near Cherkasy.
Emergency blackouts were also introduced in many regions.
