Massive Russian missile and drone attacks have damaged all major thermal and hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine, according to Ukraine's Ministry of Energy.

"As a result of the enemy’s massive missile and drone attacks, all large thermal and hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine have been damaged. Their capacity to generate electricity has significantly decreased, while consumer demand remains at pre-attack levels," the statement said.

The Ministry of Energy explained that for this reason, all available capacity at Ukrainian power plants is currently being used exclusively to meet domestic consumption.

DTEK company previously noted that the Russian attacks on the energy sector caused widespread outages across Ukraine. The enemy is targeting not only power generation but also transmission systems, making it impossible to deliver the electricity produced to consumers.

On November 20, Ukrenergo company reported the introduction of emergency power cuts in several regions of Ukraine due to the risk of overloading the energy system and the consequences of Russian attacks.

Additionally, the IAEA officially confirmed that after the November 19 attack, three Ukrainian nuclear power plants were forced to reduce electricity production, calling the situation alarming.
