On the evening of July 7, Russian troops launched a strike on a critical infrastructure facility in the Sumy district. As a result of the attack, part of the residents was left without electricity, according to Sumy Regional Military Administration head Oleh Hryhorov and the regional energy provider Sumyoblenergo.

"The Russian army struck a critical infrastructure facility in the Sumy district. As a result, part of the district was left without power," Hryhorov stated, adding that restoration efforts are currently underway.

According to Sumyoblenergo, the attack also left parts of the city of Sumy without electricity.

"For safety reasons, we are not disclosing specific details or consequences to avoid assisting the enemy in adjusting future strikes. We are working around the clock to restore electricity distribution to every household," the company said.

Energy officials urged residents to maintain information silence and refrain from posting photos, videos, or any data that could help Russian forces adjust their strikes or assess the condition of the power grid.
