Russia strikes Chernihiv with ballistic missiles: Killed and injured reported
There were explosions in Chernihiv on Wednesday, April 17. Russia struck the city, and victims and wounded are reported, according to suspilne.media, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the air alert map, the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Viacheslav Chaus, and the acting mayor of Chernihiv Oleksandr Lomak.
"Explosions are heard in Chernihiv!" reads the message of suspilne.media.
Local media reported at least three explosions in Chernihiv.
Killed and wounded reported
At 9:25 a.m., it became known that Russia had launched a missile attack on Chernihiv.
"The Russian troops fired missiles at Chernihiv. There are killed and wounded," said Viacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration.
In addition, as noted by the acting mayor of Chernihiv, Oleksandr Lomako, a strike was recorded on a social infrastructure facility.
Air raid alert
The air alert in Ukraine on April 17 was first announced in Kyiv at around 8:48 a.m. Later, three more regions were added to the list - Chernihiv, Kyiv and Sumy.
The Air Force warned of a racketeering threat. Later, the alert was announced in Cherkasy and Poltava regions.
"A missile is coming to Chernihiv!" the Ukrainian Air Force warned.
Later, the Ukrainian Air Force asked Kyiv residents to take shelter as a missile was targeting the Kyiv region.
