In the early morning of July 11, Russian forces attacked the center of Kharkiv with Shahed-type strike drones, according to the mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, and the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

"Russian forces are attacking with drones. An explosion was heard in the city. The threat of further strikes remains. Kharkiv and the region, take shelter," Syniehubov wrote.

Terekhov warned that drones were still in the sky. Other details about the consequences of the attack are currently unknown.

"Russia struck the city center, in a residential area. Preliminary reports indicate there are casualties. We are clarifying the details," Terekhov said.

At 5:54 AM Kyiv time, a functioning medical facility in the city center was hit.

"In the city center, as a result of an attack, a working medical facility was affected. According to preliminary information, windows were blown out, but the building is still being inspected," Terekhov noted.

Updated 6:04 AM Kyiv time. A drone strike was recorded in a residential area of the Saltivskyi district.

The impact hit a three-story building and the surrounding yard.

The building was damaged, with structural elements catching fire. The fire covers about 20 square meters.

Updated 6:34 AM. At least one person was injured in the city center — a 64-year-old man.

Updated 6:48 AM. The number of casualties from the Russian morning attack has risen to two.

Updated 7:00 AM. Three people are now reported injured. Explosions damaged a maternity hospital. Fortunately, no one inside was hurt. Mothers and newborns will be transferred to another facility.

Updated 7:49 AM. The number of injured has increased to nine.

Overnight attack on Ukraine - July 11

During the night of July 11, monitoring channels reported that Russia launched a small number of drones.

Explosions were heard in Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region. A hospital building was damaged as a result of another Russian strike. Several people were injured.

Explosions also occurred in Mykolaiv, where a fire broke out due to a Shahed drone attack.
