Vitalii Klitschko said that the strike damaged the bridge’s roadway and the trolleybus contact network. Traffic across the bridge from the left bank to the right bank was suspended.
In recent days, Russian forces have been systematically targeting Kyiv’s bridges. The Southern Bridge was first struck on October 1, when it was attacked by two drones. Later that evening, another strike damaged a bridge support, the roadway, and the metro’s protective barrier.
During the night of October 2, the enemy struck the Southern Bridge again, and attacked it once more later that day.
