Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Russia had expressed readiness for a third round of negotiations with Ukraine, reports Anadolu.

"The Russians said they are ready for a third round of negotiations. We are now waiting for a response from the Ukrainian side, our contacts with them are ongoing," Fidan said after a talk with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The head of Turkish diplomacy added that Moscow wants "several issues to be resolved before the start of negotiations." In his opinion, the negotiating teams still need to work in order to achieve a concrete result.

The first round of negotiations took place on May 16 in Istanbul. At that time, the parties agreed on a prisoner exchange in the 1,000-for-1,000 format.

On June 2, the second round of peace negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations concluded in Istanbul. It lasted about an hour. Türkiye acted as a mediator. Read all about the second round in RBC-Ukraine’s report.
