Russia shifts attack tactics with more jet-powered Shahed drones, Ukrainian official says

Russia is changing its tactics in attacks on Ukraine by deploying more jet-powered Shahed drones and increasing the overall number of aerial weapons used, said Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk.
According to Pletenchuk, Russia is steadily increasing the number of air attack weapons it deploys.
"As always, they rely on numbers. That is the only tactic available to the Russians. Yes, there are more jet-powered Shahed drones, but the enemy is also changing its tactics by increasing the number of attack weapons," he said.
Pletenchuk noted that it has become increasingly difficult for Russia to develop fundamentally new tactical or technical approaches.
He added that Ukraine's Defense Forces continue to protect the maritime sector using interceptor drones, air defense systems, and coastal defense assets.
Earlier today, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Ukraine's Kyiv region, with the Bucha district suffering the heaviest damage.
According to preliminary information, 10 people were killed, and about 100 others were injured in the attack.
Overnight, Russia also launched five missiles and 180 attack drones against Ukraine. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted most of the incoming targets, although some strikes could not be prevented.
