Russian forces attacked the village of Novoosynove in the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region on April 2. A 59-year-old man was killed on the spot, and his 11-year-old son died in the hospital on April 3, according to Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, and the Prosecutor General's Office.

"The occupiers killed another child. Today, an 11-year-old boy died in the hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the shelling," Syniehubov wrote.

The head of the administration added that his 59-year-old father was killed yeserday as a result of enemy strikes on the village of Novoosynove in the Kupiansk district.

Shelling of Novoosynove

Russian forces shelled Novoosynove in the Kupiansk district around 5:00 PM on April 2. As a result of enemy shelling, one person was killed, and one child was injured.

"A 59-year-old civilian man was killed on the spot. An 11-year-old boy with injuries was hospitalized," Synegubov said yesterday.

The child died in the hospital on the morning of April 3.

In January of this year, mandatory evacuation of the population from the Kondrashivska and Kurylivska communities of the Kupiansk district was announced in the Kharkiv region, and was partially carried out.

Numbers

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, more than 1,818 children have been affected in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression.

"As of the morning of April 3, 2024, according to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 538 children have been killed and over 1,280 have been injured to varying degrees," the statement said.

The most affected children are in the following regions: Donetsk - 524, Kharkiv - 344, Kherson - 149, Kyiv - 130, Dnipropetrovsk - 130, Mykolaiv - 103, Zaporizhzhia - 100.

On April 2, 5 children aged 14 to 17 were injured due to the Russian shelling of Dnipro.
