Russia’s strike on Cabinet of Ministers with Iskander missile confirmed by Zelenskyy’s Office

Russian forces struck the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with an Iskander cruise missile on the night of September 7. This was confirmed by the Office of the President, according to the Telegram channel of the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.
As Yermak reported, today he held a phone conversation with US Secretary of State, Acting US National Security Advisor to the President, Mark Rubio.
"I informed him about the ongoing attacks by Russia, targeting our cities and residential buildings with drones and missiles. They are killing civilians, including children, and destroying our infrastructure. For the first time, the enemy attacked the building of the Ukrainian government – the strike was carried out with an Iskander ballistic missile," said the Head of the Office of the President.
Yermak and Rubio also discussed security guarantees, Ukraine’s defense support, strengthening sanctions against Russia, and coordinating actions with partners.
"Putin only understands force; he does not want to end the war. Pressure on Russia must continue. Lasting peace is our goal, and we must achieve it," emphasized the Head of the Office of the President.
He also expressed gratitude for the leadership of US President Donald Trump in striving to end Russia’s war against Ukraine, as well as to the American people for their support and assistance.
"I also thank US Secretary of State Mark Rubio, who is doing a lot to achieve a just peace. We continue the work," Yermak added.
Strike on the Cabinet of Ministers
On the night of September 7, Russian forces carried out another massive attack on Ukraine.
For the first time, the enemy breached one of the most protected areas – the government quarter. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine building was hit.
Earlier, media reports stated that the Russian troops used not a Shahed kamikaze drone, but an Iskander cruise missile to strike the Cabinet building.
Meanwhile, the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Catharina Maternova, confirmed that Russia had used an Iskander missile for the attack.
"I saw it with my own eyes: Putin (Russian President Vladimir Putin - ed.) knows exactly what he is doing. The Iskander ballistic missile that struck the Cabinet of Ministers was aimed right there - at the heart of Ukraine’s government. We were shown sizeable remnants of the actual missile. And a multitude of shrapnel coming from the cluster munition embedded in the Iskander," she stated.
